Char Siew (roast pork) Recipe
1. 2 1/2-3 lbs pork butt, cut into long stripes 1″-2″
2. 3 Tbs Hoishin sauce
3. 4 tsp soya sauce
4. 3 Tbs cooking wine
5. 2 tsp garlic powder
6. 1 tsp five spice powder
7. 1/2 tsp salt
8. 1/4 tsp white pepper
9. 3/4 cup sugar
10. 2 Tbs honey or molasses
11. 2 Tbs dark sauce
12. 2 Tbs cooking oil
Add and mixed # 2-9 to a big bowl. Add #1 marinade meat for 2-4 hours.
Preheat oven 425 degree. Put foil on a baking tray lay meat on tray (no rack).
C. Bake for 35-40 mins, turn once. Cook till gravy thicken. Take it out of the oven.
D. Mixed # 10-12 on a shallow bowl, dip and coat each piece of meat and put them back to the tray.
E. Set oven on broil. Cook 5 mins, turn once.
I put in 8 pieces boneless chicken thighs and use the leftover marinade sauce. Follow the same recipe. Yummy.
